La Vida Care Team Celebrates Pride 2022 with Family and SFV Community

This weekend’s SFV Pride event was filled of laughter and smiles from people from all walks of life. From a dad visiting to gather resources for his lesbian daughter who just came out to a person that wanted to show their guinea pigs what pride is about, this event granted us the important visibility we needed.

We took about 92 pictures of different people holding our “How do you identify?” hearts in front of our La Vida Care background. Our booth was set up in the most effective way to ensure we were able to get our information across. Besides the hearts, our next popular item were the condom lollipops that had a QR code in the back which leads to lavidacare.org when scanned. They were truly going away like candy.

Most importantly, we gathered 17 potential patients that are interested in our program and the services we have to offer. It seemed like such a relief to them when we mentioned that we are located just around the neighborhood. We also shared information about SFCHC as a whole resource and received inquiries for dental and behavioral health. We will be contacting all potential patients as soon as possible. While connecting with them was great, we also benefited from connecting with other resources such as an LGBTQIA+ friendly church and a psychologist who has their private practice. We gave them our information in hopes they may be able to refer others to us.

The overall outcome was successful, and we could not have picked a better spot with the perfect amount of shade. The highlight of the event for me was the fact that my mother showed up to support. This was her first ever Pride event.

Here are some of our favorite pictures from the event:
